Inside Work

All the snow we had last week has left the ground too soggy for comfort. There are still parts of our property coated in several inches of the white stuff simply refusing to melt away. Anyway, aside from tending to the young seedlings inside the tiny greenhouse, there’s really not a lot that can be done outside right now. So, yesterday we got some things done inside.

The carpet in our hallway had seen 17 years of animals and dirt and was well beyond any hope of recovery; it should have been taken up at least ten years ago. Finally, yesterday it was ripped out! WooHoo! The built-in cabinet that always seemed to be in the way was relocated, too! Today we’ll spend time patching holes and caulking edges. The plan is to eventually install heavy-duty linoleum all through the house. I just hope it doesn’t take another 17 years to get it done.
